Webinars are a popular and effective tool for sharing knowledge, engaging audiences, and building brand presence.

What is a Webinar?

A webinar is a portmanteau of "web" and "seminar," and is precisely what the name suggests—an online seminar or presentation conducted over the internet.

It allows a speaker or a group of speakers to share information, ideas, and expertise with a remote audience.

Steps to Designing a Webinar

  • Plan & Prepare: This involves defining your objectives, selecting a topic, and identifying your target audience. Once you have a clear vision, you can set a date and time for the webinar.

  • Choose a Webinar Platform: To host a webinar, you need a webinar platform or software. There are various options available, each with its own set of features. Popular platforms include Zoom, GoToWebinar, and Webinar Jam. These platforms provide the necessary tools for scheduling, promoting, and hosting your webinar.

  • Can I host the webinar on Kajabi, you may asking? Yes, you can go live inside a course, but folks will have to log in to access the live webinar. For that reason, I would suggest using Zoom to simply invite folks and perform the webinar with easy upload to Kajabi for replay.

  • Promotion and Registration: After selecting a platform, you'll need to promote your webinar to attract attendees. This can be done through email marketing, social media, and your website. You'll also create a registration page where interested participants can sign up for the event.

  • Hosting the Webinar: On the day of the webinar, you will start the session at the scheduled time. Attendees join by clicking on the registration link. During the webinar, you'll deliver content using slides, videos, and live demonstrations while engaging with the audience through chat, polls, and Q&A sessions.

  • Interactivity: One of the key advantages of webinars is interactivity. Attendees can ask questions, provide feedback, and participate in discussions in real-time. This engagement fosters a sense of community and keeps participants actively involved.

  • Recording and Accessibility: Most webinar platforms allow you to record the session. This recording can be shared afterward with those who couldn't attend live or as a valuable resource for future reference.

  • Post-Webinar Activities: After the webinar is when the follow-up pitch is sent. You can send follow-up emails, surveys, and send them to the sales page.

Data and Analytics: Webinar platforms offer valuable insights into attendee behavior. You can track attendance, participation, and audience demographics, enabling data-driven decision-making.
